AI Web Development

I used to be healthily cynical about the idea of using AI in web development but am now a total convert - let me explain why.

A long standing client got in touch, very enthusiastic about AI and asked if I would try utilising it for development of his online CRM system. He explained that he’d like me to try to use AI to build software to replace the CV parsing service (extraction of data from CVs) integrated into his CRM, that he’d been paying for up until that point. We’d discussed this in the past but had agreed that, in this instance, it was not economically viable for me to spend the months I estimated it would take to manually replicate this software. I was privately doubtful that it was even worth trying AI to do this but gave it a go.

Within a week or so, combining the AI power and speed with my experience and expertise, I had built custom CV parsing functionality into his CRM, replacing the paid service. Honestly, it isn’t perfect and has required multiple iterations to get to a usable stage, but it now works well for the majority of CVs, took a tiny fraction of the time it would have taken without AI assistance and is saving my client money every time it’s used.
