New (Old!) Epiphone Sheraton

Epiphone SheratonMy latest 6 string squeeze is this lovely natural finish Epiphone Sheraton bought from Music Warehouse, Colchester. An online serial number search dated it as 1997 which suits me fine as I prefer older guitars. I had a lovely 80s Japanese Sheraton a few years ago which I semi regret selling so when I saw it in the shop it caught my eye. Once I’d seen it close up (very good condition) and played it (lovely straight neck with a low action), I knew I had to have it! I used it at a blues jam recently and it sounds huge through my Fender Twin, woody and feedbacky(!) – a very nice contrast to my Strat.

Next, I’m going to try to find a good deal on a couple of good quality replacement pickups (Gibson 57 Classics or similar) and have them fitted. Who knows, I might even keep this one…
